A controlled procedure to reduce the volume of circulating blood in order to relieve the body's strain and improve blood parameters.
Venous blood-letting for therapeutic purposes after the prescription of a therapist, internist or hematologist, as well as after the prescription of a urologist in case of testosterone overdose. Usually, blood is collected 3-5 times with an interval of 2-4 days, 250-500 ml of venous blood is collected at a time. At the same time, an i/v system with S.NaCl 0.9% 500 ml is administered into the patient's other arm (unless otherwise prescribed). The procedure takes 40-60 minutes. The patient is in a supine position. Vital signs (arterial blood pressure, pulse, respiration) are assessed before and after the procedure. After the procedure, patient should sit quietly for about 15 minutes, after which they can go about their daily activities, including driving a car.
