Taping

Taping is a modern physiotherapy method that effectively helps to treat pain and body discomfort of various origins. The tape serves two purposes: it helps the muscle to work or relax, it stabilizes the joint with a kind of corset-strengthener, thus helping the patient to move correctly, to move the joint correctly. If it is necessary to widen the effect, it is possible to use several tapes at the same time. Taping techniques differ, it is necessary to know how to do it, therefore the taping is performed by a certified specialist. When applying kinesiological tape, it is important to know where and how the muscle stretches, where it begins, where it ends, how it works. On the other hand, when applying the dynamic tape, it is important to know how the joint moves, to observe the correct direction and joint levers. The tape also helps with lymph drainage problems - it is glued along the lymph drainage direction, thus reducing swelling and edema. Most often, taping is applied to the legs and arms for patients after injuries, as well as for cancer patients who develop edema and/or lymphostasis after lymph node removal. Taping makes life easier for oncology patients if other methods do not help. Medical taping is used to reduce back pain (spondylosis, herniated discs, etc.), for joint pain (e.g., frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis, tennis elbow, etc.), after injuries, in case of bruises, dislocations, sprains, fractures, to reduce edema and subcutaneous hemorrhages, to reduce inflammation and prevent scars, for neuroreflexive manipulations (e.g., for headaches caused by muscle tension), for posture correction, etc.
