Long-acting injection. It is used to treat prostate cancer in men, endometriosis in women, and precocious puberty in children.
Diphereline 11.25 mg contains triptorelin, which is similar to a hormone called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH analogue). It is a long-acting formulation that slowly releases 11.25 mg of triptorelin over 3 months (12 weeks). In men, triptorelin reduces the levels of the hormone testosterone. In women, it reduces the levels of estrogen. It is used: in men for treatment of locally advanced and metastatic hormone-dependent prostate cancer, for treatment of high-risk localized and locally advanced hormone-dependent prostate cancer in combination with radiotherapy; in children for treatment of precocious puberty; in women for treatment of endometriosis.
